Inteligencia Emocional y su Relación con la Empatía en el Educación Básica en Quito, Ecuador

La presente investigación analiza la relación entre la inteligencia emocional y la empatía en estudiantes de Educación Básica en Quito, Ecuador, desde un enfoque cuantitativo y positivista. Fundamentada en los postulados de Fernández-Berrocal y Extremera (2019) sobre inteligencia emocional y Maturana (1997) sobre empatía, la investigación busca determinar cómo la capacidad de reconocer y gestionar emociones influye en el desarrollo de la empatía en el contexto escolar. Se utilizó una metodología empírica basada en la demostración de hipótesis, empleando la encuesta como técnica de recolección de datos. El instrumento aplicado fue un cuestionario estructurado que permitió evaluar los niveles de inteligencia emocional y empatía en la muestra seleccionada. La población estuvo conformada por estudiantes de Educación Básica, lo que permitió obtener datos representativos sobre la interacción entre ambas variables. Los resultados evidenciaron una correlación positiva entre la inteligencia emocional y la empatía, indicando que los estudiantes con mayor capacidad de autorregulación emocional presentan niveles más altos de empatía. Además, se identificaron desafíos en la regulación emocional, lo que resalta la importancia de estrategias pedagógicas para fortalecer estas competencias. Se concluye que la educación emocional debe ser integrada en el currículo escolar, complementada con formación docente en estrategias de regulación emocional. Se recomienda el desarrollo de programas psicoeducativos que potencien la inteligencia emocional y la empatía, favoreciendo la convivencia y el bienestar estudiantil.
